Jigsaw Sudoku: a guide for your next round

Read the aim of Jigsaw Sudoku, then make your first move. Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. Look at what changes after your first action. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

This collection contains 6 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Something to practise

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Make the next step deliberately.

What the game asks you to do

Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Step by step

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Input guidance

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

One way to understand the rules

The coloured region, not a conventional 3×3 box, defines the third no-repeat constraint. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Verify the rule before continuing.

Avoid this misunderstanding

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Check the rule before repeating the action. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
